Will Saad Hariri Participate in Lebanon’s Parliamentary Elections?
Lebanese sources report that Saad Hariri is unwilling to participate in Lebanon’s upcoming parliamentary elections.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported that some Future Movement officials claim Saad Hariri will return to Beirut before the end of 2025 to prepare for the parliamentary elections and signal his approval for certain party members’ participation.
However, individuals who recently met with the Future Movement leader have contradicted this claim. These sources state that Hariri has no desire to run in the elections or engage with Saudi arabia.
They also noted that Hariri’s health remains unstable due to complications from open-heart surgery performed over a year ago.
The Lebanese parliamentary elections are scheduled for spring 2026.
