Netanyahu Meets Head of Egyptian Intelligence in Tel Aviv
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that he met on Tuesday with Hassan Mahmoud Rashad, head of Egyptian intelligence.
The meeting took place in tel Aviv, where Netanyahu said the purpose was to “advance U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza and strengthen peace and bilateral relations.”
Media reports stated that during his visit to Israel, the chief of Egyptian intelligence held discussions with Netanyahu and other senior Israeli officials, including David Zini, director of Israel’s internal intelligence agency (Shin Bet), regarding the second phase of the Gaza agreement and the plan proposed by the trump administration.
Egyptian media also reported that Rashad is scheduled to meet with Steve Biegun, Trump’s special envoy for Middle East affairs.
The meeting occurred amid reports by Israeli journalist Barak Ravid that Netanyahu appointed Michael Eisenberg, an Israeli-American businessman, as his personal representative on the committee overseeing enforcement of the Gaza ceasefire.
