The second incident took place Monday evening at the MOL refinery in Százhalombatta, Hungary. authorities stated that fires had been contained by Tuesday morning but operations remain suspended while investigations continue. The exact cause of this explosion remains unknown at this time.
The Százhalombatta refinery serves as a key hub for fuel distribution throughout Hungary and central Europe, processing crude oil delivered via the Druzhba pipeline from Russia.
