Lavrov Emphasizes Russia’s Solidarity with Venezuela
Russia’s Foreign Minister emphasized his country’s solidarity with Caracas amid increasing external threats and attempts to interfere in Venezuela’s internal affairs during a meeting with the Venezuelan ambassador in Moscow.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, reporting from Mehr News Agency via RIA Novosti, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reaffirmed Moscow’s support for Caracas in facing external threats on Tuesday.
The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement releasing Lavrov’s remarks on the matter.
The statement noted that during his meeting with Jesús Rafael Salazar Velásquez, Venezuela’s ambassador to Moscow, lavrov highlighted Russia’s solidarity with the Venezuelan government and people against escalating foreign threats and efforts aimed at interfering in Venezuela’s domestic affairs.
This comes as Venezuela has faced recent threats from the U.S. military over the last few weeks.
