Ethiopia Rail Accident Kills 14, Injures 29
A train accident in eastern Ethiopia has resulted in 14 deaths and 29 injuries.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Xinhua, local media reported today that a train crash in eastern Ethiopia killed at least 14 people and injured dozens more.
Dire TV, quoting local officials, stated the accident occurred around 2 a.m. local time while a passenger train was traveling from Djibouti-border town Dire Dawa toward the city of Dire Dawa.
Authorities confirmed the crash caused at least 14 fatalities and left 29 others with serious or minor injuries.
Images shared on social media show fragmented train parts scattered along the Dire Dawa-djibouti route-a historic railway connecting these two cities in Ethiopia.
