Widespread Military Deployment in Western Venezuela
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing al Mayadeen via Mehr News Agency,Venezuela’s Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López stated that over 20,000 military personnel have been deployed in the western part of the country and are actively performing thier duties.
He added that Venezuelans live in peace but continue to suffer from U.S. economic sanctions imposed on their nation.
Last Wednesday, the Trump administration authorized covert operations by the CIA inside Venezuela. According to this authorization, the CIA can conduct lethal operations independently or in coordination with military forces.
The report noted that U.S. military officials have prepared options for President Trump’s consideration, including potential attacks within Venezuelan territory.
The previous Tuesday evening, Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social that under his orders, U.S. forces attacked a vessel off Venezuela’s coast resulting in six deaths.
The U.S. president claimed that this boat was involved in drug trafficking.
As last September,U.S. forces have launched five attacks on Venezuelan boats citing narcotics trafficking as justification.
