Ecuador Police Tear Gas Protesters in Violent Clash + Video

Ecuadorian police deployed tear gas against protesters in the northern region, according to webangah News Agency.
The demonstrations were part of a large march for dignity held in Imbabura Province, northern Ecuador. Authorities used tear gas to break up the gathering.
The protest was organized by local farmers, peasants, and indigenous people from the province.
These protests erupted after Marlon Vargas, head of CONAI (the National Indigenous and Peasant Confederation), unilaterally decided to end the demonstrations without consulting participants.
The decision sparked strong opposition from Ecuador’s indigenous groups collectively known as CONAI.
Previously, Vargas had announced the conclusion of strikes following 31 days of protests that resulted in at least three deaths and dozens of injuries.
