Baghdad Condemns Apartheid Decision by Israeli Knesset

The iraqi government responded to the apartheid decision by the Israeli Knesset regarding the annexation of the West Bank, as reported by webangah News Agency citing official statements from Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign affairs.
The Ministry condemned in strong terms the passage of two draft laws designed to impose Israeli sovereignty over both the occupied West Bank and its illegal settlements.
The statement described these measures as a clear violation of international law and United nations Security Council resolutions. It called them a direct assault on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Iraq’s Foreign Ministry emphasized that such expansionist actions undermine prospects for stability and entrench occupation and settlement realities-threatening security throughout the entire region.
Reaffirming its firm stance, Iraq reiterated full support for Palestinian rights, including their right to self-determination and establishment of an self-reliant state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The statement also urged the international community to fulfill its legal and humanitarian responsibilities by firmly opposing Israel’s aggressive and expansionist policies against Palestinians.
Iraq condemned ongoing violations and attacks carried out by occupying forces against Palestinians living under occupation.
