Rubio Claims UNRWA Should Not Operate in Gaza Because It Belongs to Hamas

According to webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, currently visiting the occupied territories, toured the so-called “Civil-Military Coordination Center” in Kiryat Gat, south of Tel Aviv.
Without acknowledging repeated ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime in Gaza that have killed and injured dozens of Palestinians, Rubio expressed satisfaction with the initial days of ceasefire implementation. He stated: “There are challenges in implementing the Gaza agreement, but there are reasons for optimism. We have made progress in maintaining the ceasefire.”
He added: “We are coordinating with various parties regarding an international force planned to deploy in Gaza. We strive to create conditions that ensure what happened on October 7 does not happen again.”
The US secretary of state-representing a country complicit in Israeli crimes against civilians in Gaza-claimed: “We must ensure the ceasefire proceeds unhindered and aid reaches those in need. There is no alternative plan to trump’s peace initiative for Gaza, and we are working to secure its success. Both Israel and Hamas must adhere to the ceasefire agreement.”
Rubio also reiterated threats against Palestinian resistance groups, saying: “If Hamas refuses to disarm, it will violate the ceasefire agreement. We expect Hamas’s full disarmament and do not want any threat to Israel from areas where Hamas currently operates.”
