Putin’s Special Envoy Visits United States

Kiril Dmitriev, head of Russia’s National Wealth Fund and special envoy of President Vladimir Putin, arrived in Washington to negotiate following new sanctions announced against moscow by former President Donald Trump, CNN reported citing multiple sources.
Thes sources added that Putin’s envoy is scheduled to meet with officials from the Trump administration to continue talks on U.S.-Russia relations.
They further stated that Washington temporarily lifted sanctions on the Kremlin envoy to issue him a U.S. visa.
axios also reported, citing an informed source, that tomorrow Dmitriev will meet with Steve Wittkoff, the U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Affairs.
The U.S. Treasury department recently sanctioned two major Russian oil companies-Rosneft and lukoil-and called on Moscow to immediately agree to a ceasefire in order to end the war in Ukraine.
