Hamas: Second Phase of Ceasefire Agreement Requires Further Understanding

According too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Hazem Qassem, spokesperson for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, read a statement affirming Hamas’s full commitment to the details of the ceasefire agreement. He emphasized their willingness to ensure its success and implementation on the ground.
Qassem added that Hamas has fulfilled the first stage of the agreement by handing over live prisoners and some Israeli bodies. The transfer of remaining bodies is currently underway.
The statement noted that the second phase requires further discussion and understanding with mediators due to its complex nature.
Hamas also stressed its commitment to a Palestinian national agreement aimed at resolving all issues related to governance in Gaza following the war.
The statement continued: “We call for pressure on the occupiers to fulfill their obligations, including halting aggression, lifting the siege on Gaza Strip, and allowing humanitarian aid access.”
Qassem warned that the Israeli occupation regime may exploit humanitarian leverage for political extortion.
The movement affirmed it is entering a Palestinian national dialog and urged support for existing national consensus in Gaza.
The statement concluded: “we have received clear guarantees from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey alongside direct confirmations from the United States regarding a genuine end to hostilities.”
