According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency,Andreas Kjaervik,Norway’s Deputy Foreign Minister, told Al Jazeera that Israel must permit aid deliveries into Gaza.
Kjaervik highlighted Israel’s legal responsibility to allow humanitarian aid access to the gaza Strip. He noted that a ruling by the International Court of Justice affirmed this irreplaceable role.
“We need more hospitals and relief workers in Gaza,” he said. “We also require resources from regional countries to provide healthcare for Palestinians in Gaza.”
The Norwegian diplomat pointed out that Israel has systematically targeted hospitals and healthcare staff. “We do not have enough time to help all residents of Gaza; urgent action is needed,” he added.
Kjaervik continued, stressing an immediate need for trucks and machinery to clear rubble in Gaza. “What is essential now is international pressure to facilitate aid delivery for those living in Gaza,” he said.
He underscored that the international community must take responsibility for providing assistance in Gaza and addressing Israeli repression in the West Bank, emphasizing: “No country can punish civilians under the pretext of targeting military objectives.”
