Israeli Official: Smotrich Undermined Our Efforts Regarding Saudi Arabia

A Zionist official condemned the remarks made by Israel’s finance minister against Saudi Arabia, stating that they caused severe political damage to the atmosphere between Tel Aviv and Riyadh, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Al-Youm.
The official added that bezalel Smotrich’s comments destroyed months of Tel Aviv’s efforts to establish quiet cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
On Thursday,Bezalel Smotrich,Israel’s finance minister,said at a conference: “If Saudi Arabia offers normalization in exchange for establishing a Palestinian state and demands a Palestinian state as a condition for normalization,we will say no thank you.”
He also told Saudis: “Continue riding your camel in the deserts of Arabia.”
Later that day, Smotrich was forced to apologize. He said: “My remarks about Saudi Arabia were definitely inappropriate and I regret offending them.”
He added: “Simultaneously occurring, I expect the Saudis not to harm us or deny our rights but rather achieve genuine peace with us!”
