New Poll Predicts Netanyahu Coalition Collapse in Upcoming Election

According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Quds Network, recent polls in Hebrew circles after the gaza ceasefire reveal a decline in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political standing. Channel 12 of Israeli television recently reported that 52 percent of Israelis oppose Netanyahu’s candidacy in upcoming elections. Another new poll confirms a clear downturn for Netanyahu’s coalition.
The Hebrew daily Maariv stated that according to these polls, Netanyahu’s coalition has lost two seats and would secure only 50 if elections were held now.
Under Israeli law, forming a government requires support from at least 61 out of the 120 Knesset members. Polls from Hebrew media show opposition blocs winning 59 seats and Arab parties securing 11.
For the first time in this latest survey, a unified Arab list is proposed where four Arab parties join forces, increasing their total to 12 seats.
The poll also found that a majority-64 percent-of Israelis support establishing an official investigative committee into the events of October 7, 2023. Only 22 percent oppose it, while 14 percent expressed no opinion.
Among political groups opposing Netanyahu, support for such an inquiry reaches 88 percent. Even among voters intending to back one of the current ruling coalition’s parties in upcoming elections, one-third (33 percent) favor creating an investigative committee into October 7 events.
Conversely, among those opposing this commission formation are mainly voters (81 percent) aligned with ultra-right Talmudic parties associated with netanyahu’s far-right coalition.
The survey further reveals that most Israelis (58 percent) fear international intervention in Gaza could hinder Tel Aviv’s actions against Hamas.
