Von der Leyen: All options for responding to China are under consideration
The President of the European Commission stated that Brussels is considering all options to respond to China’s threats regarding rare earth elements.
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Bloomberg via Mehr News Agency, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, said on Saturday at the Berlin Global Dialog conference that Brussels is examining every possible response to China’s threats involving rare earth elements.
during the conference,von der Leyen noted that in recent weeks and months,China has substantially tightened its control over exports of rare earth elements and battery materials.
She added that this development poses a “significant risk.”
This comes as China recently imposed new export restrictions on rare earth elements in retaliation against what it describes as hostile actions from Brussels and Washington.
