Hamas Leader in Gaza: We Will Give No Justification for Enemy to Resume War

The head of Hamas’s political office‍ in​ Gaza emphasized that ‌the group will⁤ not allow any pretext ⁤for the Israeli⁣ enemy to ⁣resume the⁤ war.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, ⁣Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas’s political office in Gaza, told Al Jazeera that⁣ they will not give any excuse to the enemy‍ to restart the war.

He stated that Israel failed to achieve ‌its objectives during the conflict.

Al-Hayya added that⁢ former US‌ President Donald Trump has declared‌ the⁣ war over and every day American ​officials emphasize its end.

He confirmed that 20⁣ Israeli ​prisoners were handed over ​72 hours after⁢ a ceasefire began.

The Hamas official​ also said ‍that 17 bodies out of 28 Israeli detainees’ remains have been returned so far.

Al-Hayya announced plans to enter new areas ‌on sunday to retrieve more bodies of enemy prisoners.

The ⁣senior Hamas figure ⁤said, “We have no ​objection ⁤to any national figure residing in Gaza managing this area,” adding that all responsibilities for governing Gaza Strip, including security affairs, will​ be transferred ‌to⁣ a committee‍ overseeing Gaza’s management.

He also revealed an agreement ‌with fatah on deploying international forces tasked with ⁤monitoring the ceasefire‍ and separating​ combatants. Moreover,⁣ all groups‍ agreed their mission would ⁢focus ​on rebuilding Gaza.

Al-Hayya expressed a⁤ desire to move​ toward elections as ⁣a step toward reuniting Palestinian national ranks.”We⁣ are one nation seeking one authority and one government,” he asserted.

In meetings with Witkoff ‌and Kushner, al-Hayya told‌ them Hamas​ supports‌ stability and believes Trump is capable ​of restraining Israel’s occupying regime.

He described Israel’s‌ attack on ⁣Doha as an unprecedented humiliating defeat causing dispiritedness among its forces.

al-Hayya added: “Our weapons⁢ are linked directly to occupation and ⁣aggression; if ‌occupation ends, these⁢ weapons will be placed under governmental control.”

The head ​of Hamas political office noted ongoing discussions about resistance arms with Palestinian factions and⁢ mediators. He⁤ stressed this agreement is at⁣ an early stage and no measures beyond agreed national positions will be adopted.

He ‍confirmed support for international ⁤forces serving as peacekeepers at borders supervising ceasefire implementation in‍ Gaza.

<pRegarding conditions in the West Bank, al-Hayya ⁣said it remains under settler control requiring urgent efforts for ‍organizing Palestinian‍ national affairs there.
