Wall Street: US Rusting Fleet Lacks Capability to Counter Yemen

The English section of webangah News Agency cited Mehr News Agency reporting that The Wall Street Journal covered remarks by John Fillon, U.S. Secretary of the Navy, before the Senate. Fillon emphasized that on many occasions, he sent protest messages to then-President Donald Trump late at night.
He added that these messages expressed complaints about America’s rusting naval fleet.
the Wall Street Journal report quoted retired Navy officer Brian Clark, who said the United States is trying to address operational gaps in its naval forces.
clark noted that America’s current fleet faces important challenges confronting modern threats such as attacks by Yemen’s armed forces in the Red Sea.
He explained that some existing destroyers are being decommissioned and admitted building a new fleet could take years-an effort likely only possible after Trump left office.
