Moscow: Successful Test of “Burevestnik” Nuclear Missile; Putin Calls It an Unmatched Weapon

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Moscow Times, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced during a visit to a command center that the nuclear intercontinental cruise missile “Burevestnik” was successfully tested.
He stated that advanced weapons were tested as part of training for Russia’s strategic offensive forces.
valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff accompanying Putin on the visit, reported that the test took place last Tuesday and that the missile traveled approximately 14,000 kilometers over about 15 hours.
Putin said this test confirmed Russia’s nuclear shield and demonstrated that its nuclear deterrent forces remain highly modernized.
He emphasized: “This is truly a unique weapon that no other country in the world possesses.”
The Burevestnik test occurred on October 21.Gerasimov noted that the missile proved able to evade defense systems but added this capability is not yet final.
Putin also instructed Gerasimov to determine deployment levels for the missile, prepare necessary infrastructure, and explore potential uses for it.
