The Sudanese army⁢ has yet to issue a statement regarding the current situation.

In recent hours, clashes between the ⁣army and Rapid Support ‌Forces have intensified across Darfur ⁤and Kordofan. Yesterday, combined forces repelled a new militia attack on Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur. However, Rapid⁣ Support Forces ⁤succeeded in retaking control of Bara, a strategic town in North Kordofan⁣ previously seized by the army after weeks of ⁢heavy fighting on ‌September 11.

Meanwhile, Al-Fashir’s Resistance Committees Coordination⁤ Chamber issued a warning about worsening famine‌ conditions that have reached catastrophic⁣ levels. Addressing local and international bodies, they stated: “Hunger is gradually killing our people. ‌We⁢ can do nothing but ask for help and‌ watch our own deaths alongside you.”

For ⁣months, conflict in Al-Fashir has escalated amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions caused by severe shortages of food, medicine, and drinking water. Over the past week, even⁤ charity kitchens‌ have been unable to⁣ provide meals to displaced persons at shelters ⁣or residents⁤ within neighborhoods.
