Sudan Army Headquarters in El Fasher Captured by Rapid Support Forces

The Sudanese Rapid support Forces announced today that they have captured the army command post in Al-Fashir,the last city in Darfur under military control, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and The Independent.
The Sudanese army has yet to issue a statement regarding the current situation.
In recent hours, clashes between the army and Rapid Support Forces have intensified across Darfur and Kordofan. Yesterday, combined forces repelled a new militia attack on Al-Fashir, the capital of North Darfur. However, Rapid Support Forces succeeded in retaking control of Bara, a strategic town in North Kordofan previously seized by the army after weeks of heavy fighting on September 11.
Meanwhile, Al-Fashir’s Resistance Committees Coordination Chamber issued a warning about worsening famine conditions that have reached catastrophic levels. Addressing local and international bodies, they stated: “Hunger is gradually killing our people. We can do nothing but ask for help and watch our own deaths alongside you.”
For months, conflict in Al-Fashir has escalated amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions caused by severe shortages of food, medicine, and drinking water. Over the past week, even charity kitchens have been unable to provide meals to displaced persons at shelters or residents within neighborhoods.
