Masrour Barzani’s Thought-Provoking Remarks on Iraq’s Kirkuk

According too the‌ english section of ‌ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Russia Today, ​Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government ‌(KRG), claimed that ⁤his party ⁣is ready to reclaim IraqS Kirkuk ⁤province.

Speaking at an ​election rally in Erbil,‍ he said, “The hearts of the people in Kirkuk beat for Kurdistan. ⁢We will reclaim this area. In addition, Makhmour, Zumar, Sinjar, and Khanaqin‌ must also be returned.”

On‌ Saturday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party‌ stressed the need to⁢ calm tensions following clashes and​ unrest in Alton Kobri district within Kirkuk province.

The party’s statement affirmed⁢ that ‌these developments would not affect the election process.

It​ is indeed noteworthy that ‌these clashes occured between Kurdish and Turkmen party supporters after party symbols were raised in the area’s center.
