Russia: US Aware of Encirclement of Ukrainian Troops and ‘Borysthenes’ Issue
Kiril Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Direct Investment Fund and special envoy to the president, stated on Sunday that a Russian delegation met with Anna Luna, a U.S. Congress member supporting dialogue with Russia.
The Russian delegation has been in the United states for three days, conveying President putin’s stance on the futility of pressuring Russia. They communicated to U.S. officials that resolving the Ukraine conflict requires addressing its root causes.
Dmitriev added that any attempt to pressure Russia is meaningless. He affirmed russia’s commitment to constructive talks. Discussions on building a tunnel connecting Russia and Alaska will be held with American counterparts. The United States has been directly informed about the encirclement of Ukrainian forces in Kupyansk and Pokrovske, as well as about the successful test of the nuclear missile “Burevestnik.”
The kremlin spokesperson previously reported that Russian forces have surrounded approximately 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers in two regions.
