Peskov: Preparations for Putin-Trump Meeting Are Complex

The ⁣Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Sunday that ⁣Washington’s sanctions have undermined prospects for restoring US-Russia relations. Russia remains interested in maintaining good ‌ties with all⁣ countries, including the United States, according to ⁢webangah News Agency.

Peskov added that the new US sanctions are not ‌a ⁢reason to abandon efforts to revive bilateral relations.‌ “It is indeed not true that everyone wants a russia-US summit,” he said. Claims about canceling a Putin-Trump meeting are‍ inaccurate, as⁣ no definitive‌ agreement on the date ⁢had been reached before. The process of ‌arranging preparations for their meeting ⁤is complicated and⁢ challenging. Initially, Trump stated that ⁢holding the⁣ summit in Hungary was not currently sensible, and Putin agreed with⁢ this position. Both sides understand it is indeed⁣ better not to postpone⁣ the meeting itself.
