Venezuelan Attorney General Responds to Possible U.S. Ground Invasion

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Buisness Standard, Tarek William Saab, Venezuela’s Attorney General, described the Trump administration’s so-called fight against drug traffickers as a cover for regime change in Caracas.
Saab said Trump aims to turn Venezuela into a U.S. colony, with calls for regime change designed to seize the country’s natural resources, including gold, oil, and copper.
An ally of Venezuelan President Nicolás maduro, Saab stressed there is no doubt about Washington’s ultimate goal to change the regime in Caracas. He called this the latest “failed” attempt in a series of unsuccessful operations aimed at overthrowing Venezuela’s government.
In response to potential ground attacks on the country,he stated: “This should not happen but we are prepared.”
He also noted that despite Washington’s “illegal” campaign against drug trafficking, Caracas remains willing to engage in dialogue with the United states.
The U.S. blame on alleged drug traffickers has resulted in at least 43 deaths along South American shores. The United States does not recognize Maduro following Venezuela’s disputed 2024 elections – wich it claims were neither free nor fair.
