Warning Issued Over Israeli Excavations Beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque and Risk of Its Collapse

A Palestinian researcher warns of intensified Israeli excavations beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque and the ⁣risk of its structural collapse.

According too the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Quds, researcher Fakhri Abudiab warned about increased Israeli activity involving ⁣excavations beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque‌ and its surroundings. He said these operations are systematically planned and pose a real threat to the mosque’s foundations.

He added that Tel Aviv has exploited global public attention on the Gaza conflict to accelerate these‌ excavations, especially⁣ over the past year. The digging is particularly concentrated‌ in the southern and southwestern areas of Al-aqsa Mosque.

Abudiab further explained ⁢that Israel claims its excavation efforts in critical sites such as southern Al-Aqsa, Silwan, Umayyad Palaces, Bab al-Maghariba, and al-Buraq seek to uncover artifacts related to a so-called “false temple.” However, no evidence or ⁤findings have surfaced over several decades. Tunnels extending hundreds of meters have been dug beneath the‍ mosque’s southern⁢ section, leaving its foundations effectively suspended. There is a real danger that even⁢ a minor or artificial earthquake could cause their collapse.
