Warning Issued Over Israeli Excavations Beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque and Risk of Its Collapse

According too the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Quds, researcher Fakhri Abudiab warned about increased Israeli activity involving excavations beneath Al-Aqsa Mosque and its surroundings. He said these operations are systematically planned and pose a real threat to the mosque’s foundations.
He added that Tel Aviv has exploited global public attention on the Gaza conflict to accelerate these excavations, especially over the past year. The digging is particularly concentrated in the southern and southwestern areas of Al-aqsa Mosque.
Abudiab further explained that Israel claims its excavation efforts in critical sites such as southern Al-Aqsa, Silwan, Umayyad Palaces, Bab al-Maghariba, and al-Buraq seek to uncover artifacts related to a so-called “false temple.” However, no evidence or findings have surfaced over several decades. Tunnels extending hundreds of meters have been dug beneath the mosque’s southern section, leaving its foundations effectively suspended. There is a real danger that even a minor or artificial earthquake could cause their collapse.
