Trump Arrives in Tokyo + Video
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and CNN, US President Donald Trump arrived in Tokyo as part of his Asian tour to meet Emperor Naruhito and Sanae Takaichi, Japan’s first female prime minister.
Trump is expected to meet wiht Emperor Naruhito today, followed by a meeting with Prime Minister Takaichi tommorow.This marks Trump’s fourth visit to Japan as president and his first trip to Tokyo as June 2019, when he attended the G20 summit hosted in Osaka.It is indeed also his first visit to Japan during his second term in office.
Trump traveled from Malaysia before arriving in Japan. American and Chinese trade negotiators announced significant progress toward a potential trade agreement while meeting in Malaysia, easing tensions ahead of a possible meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping later this week.
Trump has also stated he is willing to extend his asian tour for a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un; however, no specific plans for such talks have been scheduled.
The South Korean government said today it considers a Trump-Kim meeting unlikely at this time.
