According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters,Chinese Foreign Minister wang Yi spoke by phone with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Monday.Wang expressed Beijing’s hope that the United States will conclude it must be ready for “high-level interactions” between the two countries.
Wang said that Chinese President Xi Jinping and then-US President Donald Trump maintained ”long-term exchanges and mutual respect.”
He described the relationship between Xi and Trump as “the most valuable strategic asset in China-US relations.”
In a statement released by China’s Foreign Ministry, wang noted that China-US trade and economic ties have experienced ups and downs.He added that during trade talks in Kuala Lumpur, both sides clarified their positions and enhanced mutual understanding.
