Zelensky Makes New Request to Trump

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with Axios about his tense meeting with donald Trump on October 17. He asserted that while sanctions are effective, Russian President Vladimir Putin will onyl negotiate under increased pressure. Without negotiations, the crisis will inevitably escalate. ”Sanctions are one tool, and long-range missiles complement this pressure,” Zelensky said.
Zelensky added that during talks with Trump, he accepted the U.S. president’s proposal to “stabilize current front lines” as a basis for peace negotiations.
He also claimed that new sanctions targeting Russian oil companies could cut Russia’s oil exports by up to 50 percent-equivalent to a maximum loss of five billion dollars in monthly revenue. The best way to force Putin into talks is by threatening military sites and energy infrastructure deep inside Russia.”Putin must understand if he refuses to negotiate, Russia’s energy infrastructure will face disruptions,” Zelensky warned.
The president referred to his meetings with European leaders, including UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, emphasizing that although Ukraine’s situation differs from Gaza’s, Kyiv is ready to cooperate on formulating a ceasefire plan.
Responding to reports about Russian advances on the battlefield, Zelensky noted Ukrainian intelligence indicates no side has gained decisive victory and insisted Russia cannot occupy the entire donbas region.
