Venezuela Announces Discovery and Foiling of CIA Operation
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Mayadeen, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Eduardo Gil Pinto announced that his government informed Trinidad and tobago about a false flag operation orchestrated by the CIA. The plot involved an attack on a U.S. military vessel at anchor intended to blame Venezuela and justify aggression against Caracas.
The Venezuelan foreign minister added that a criminal network funded by the CIA, connected to this covert operation, is currently being dismantled on Venezuelan soil. He emphasized that Trinidad and tobago must not allow its territory to be used for military exercises that threaten peace in the Caribbean.
Gil Pinto further expressed respect for the people of Trinidad and Tobago and confidence in their wisdom to prevent their country from becoming embroiled in a dirty war.
Earlier, Euronews reported widespread protests across Trinidad and Tobago against the docking of a U.S.destroyer in their waters, including demonstrations outside the U.S. embassy.
David Abdullah, leader of Trinidad and Tobago’s Movement for Social Justice party, told Euronews that his country should never have allowed the destroyer into its territorial waters.
