Russia and North Korea: The United States Is the Main Cause of Tensions on the Korean Peninsula

According to the English section of⁢ webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik via Mehr News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister ‍Sergey Lavrov and North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui held talks in moscow.

Choe Son-hui ⁣is ⁤currently on ​an official visit to⁣ Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs⁤ issued a statement saying that during their meeting in Moscow, Lavrov and Choe reaffirmed‌ their commitment to implementing the comprehensive ​strategic partnership agreement. The two foreign ministers discussed current​ issues related to developing bilateral relations, ‌including practical areas of cooperation.

The ministry’s ‍statement added that Lavrov and Choe emphasized that actions by the United States and its allies are the⁢ primary cause ​of tensions ⁢on the Korean ‌Peninsula. ‌The Russian side⁢ expressed its support ‍for ⁤Pyongyang’s efforts to defend its sovereignty.
