US Faces Government Shutdown Crisis; Military Pay Emerges as Trump’s New Challenge

The U.S.⁣ Treasury Secretary warned that if the⁤ government shutdown continues, the‍ country may face ‍difficulties paying military personnel‍ by ⁤mid-November.

according to webangah ⁢News ​Agency, citing⁤ Mehr News Agency⁤ adn Anadolu Agency, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated ⁢that ⁢if the federal government shutdown persists, the ​United States will be unable to pay its military forces by mid-November.

Bessent said,⁣ “We were able to pay military personnel this month using leftover Pentagon‌ funds. ​I believe we can ​do ‍so again at the beginning ‌of November.”

He added, ‍”But‍ by ⁣November 15, soldiers ⁣and staff who risk their lives will not receive their wages.it is indeed truly shameful!”

On Friday, the U.S. Department ⁣of Defense confirmed it would rely‍ on a $130 million contribution from an anonymous supporter of former President donald ‍Trump to cover military ‍payroll.

Last Thursday, Democratic ‌senators blocked a Republican-backed bill⁣ designed to ‌fund⁣ salaries for active-duty troops and other ⁢essential federal employees affected by the shutdown.
