Biden Calls on Americans to Stand Firm Against Trump

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and the Associated Press, Joe Biden described Donald Trump’s presidency as a “dark period” during a meeting at the Edward Kennedy Institute. He called on Americans not to surrender in the face of attacks on free speech and attempts to increase presidential power.
Biden emphasized that america needs an effective Congress, an independent judiciary, and a president with limited authority. He added that amid the longest federal government shutdown, Trump has exploited this situation to consolidate greater power.
Recalling protests by federal employees and all academics and artists who stood against threats from the Trump management, Biden stated: ”Late-night hosts continue to shine the light of free speech even though their profession is under threat.”
The former US leader also thanked Republican elected officials who voted against or opposed Trump’s policies. He noted: “America’s story is not a fairy tale; over 250 years it has always been a place of struggle between danger and possibility.”
In closing his remarks, Biden called on Americans to rise up against the Trump administration.
