The English section of webangah News Agency cited RIA Novosti in reporting that Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, reacted sarcastically to news about france preparing to send troops to Ukraine.
Referring to a recent theft at the Louvre Museum in Paris, Zakharova stated that rather of preparing troops for deployment to Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron should be sending forces to protect his country’s museums.
Earlier, the press office of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service reported that according to it’s intelligence, macron is considering military intervention in Ukraine. Following his orders, the French Armed Forces General Staff is reportedly preparing a unit of up to 2,000 soldiers and non-commissioned officers for possible deployment there.
On her Telegram channel, the Russian diplomat noted that France has 1,123 museums as of this year. She commented that Macron would be better off sending these soldiers in pairs on shifts to guard these cultural sites amid deteriorating internal security and public order-thereby preventing incidents like the one at the Louvre.
