U.S. Official: Opposed to Major Change in Yellow Line and Israeli Ground Offensive

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, a US official told the Israeli newspaper israel Hayom: “We oppose any essential changes along the ceasefire line and any new Israeli ground incursions into Gaza.”
The official claimed, “We believe Hamas violated the agreement, but a harsh Israeli response could lead to war.”
simultaneously occurring, another Israeli newspaper, Maariv, quoting a senior regime official, reported that expanding activity inside the ceasefire line has been coordinated fully with the US government.
Maariv also quoted israeli regime officials as saying they are not seeking to destroy the agreement or declare a resumption of hostilities at this stage.
Additionally, Israel’s Channel 12 cited a senior regime figure who claimed that attacks on Gaza will never cause the collapse of the ceasefire but rather will help enforce it.
The same official added, “Hamas shoudl fear returning to war; therefore, our actions may have an impact.”
Channel 12 also reported from other officials that trump-era advisors pressured Netanyahu not to respond strongly to Gaza in ways that would damage the ceasefire agreement.
