Trump: I Will Definitely Meet Kim Jong Un; My Focus Is on China
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, U.S. President Donald Trump said he is confident that he will meet North Korean leader Kim Jong Un ”at some point.”
Speaking aboard Air Force One en route from Japan to South Korea,trump said about meeting Kim Jong un: “I will meet him at some point. The schedule is very tight.”
Without giving further details, he added: ”We will return at some point in the not-to-distant future!”
Trump also noted his interest in focusing on relations with North Korea by meeting with Kim Jong Un eventually.
He continued: “At the same time, I want to focus on China. What I mean is that my focus today and tomorrow is China, and I want to concentrate on that.”
In response to a question about North Korea’s strategic cruise missile test over the Yellow sea, Trump remarked that “Pyongyang has been launching missiles for decades.”
He added: “Another missile was launched. I’ve always had a very good relationship with them. I got along well with the North Korean leader and had a good understanding of him.”
