Sidoti explained in an interview with Al Jazeera that the UN independent commission’s examination into genocide in Gaza lasted two years. The inquiry collected evidence confirming these crimes were carried out by Israel.

The UN Human Rights Council established this independent international commission concerning Palestine in May 2021.
According to Sidoti, the committee continues its work following methods it has employed consistently over four years since its establishment.
The records include interviews with witnesses, victims, and others with direct knowledge of events. Supplementing these are satellite imagery, video clips, and digital forensic analysis tools attached to these documents.
The commission’s investigation goes beyond documenting crimes; it also identifies responsibility. Sidoti added that many Israeli military personnel who perpetrated these offenses have been identified by the committee.
Moreover, some commanders and also members of Israel’s cabinet and military officials who ordered these acts have also been named.
Sidoti confirmed that all documentation is submitted to both the UN Human rights Council and General Assembly. These reports are publicly accessible; ther are no private or inaccessible findings held back from disclosure.
He characterized the committee’s investigation as thorough, serious-and reliable-with broad global recognition for its credibility.
According to recent statistics from gaza’s Ministry of Health, Palestinian casualties since October 7 include 68,531 deaths and 170,402 injuries amid what is described as ongoing genocide.
