Europe Condemns Belarus’s Provocative Actions

The European Union strongly condemned what it described as provocative actions by Belarus against the EU and its member countries, calling them unacceptable and contradictory to President Lukashenko’s previous statements about improving relations with Brussels, according to a report by Al Jazeera cited by Mehr News Agency.
The EU statement claimed that meteorological balloons entering Lithuanian airspace from Belarus had disrupted hundreds of flights, causing meaningful damage to Lithuanian airports and affecting thousands of passengers. The EU warned thes acts risk destabilizing an EU member state and intimidate European citizens through direct threats to civilian aviation.
The statement insisted that all such actions must cease instantly. It urged Belarus to take effective measures without delay to control its airspace, national borders, and territory while combating organized criminal activities originating within the country. Sanctions have been imposed on belarus, and the EU remains prepared to take further appropriate measures should these provocations continue.
