Sweden Condemns Massacre in El Fasher, Sudan

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Al Jazeera, Sweden’s Foreign Ministry condemned the widespread killings occurring in Sudan today, Wednesday.
The statement from Sweden’s Foreign Ministry reads: The Rapid Response Forces hold responsibility for safeguarding civilians within the areas they control in sudan.
The statement adds that all parties in Sudan must respect international humanitarian law and return to the negotiating table.
A joint armed force in Darfur, western Sudan, accused the Rapid Response Forces yesterday of killing 2,000 civilians in the city of El Fasher during October 26 and 27.
The besieged city of El Fasher has witnessed intense fighting between the Sudanese army and Rapid Response Forces over recent days. On Sunday, these forces announced they had taken control of parts of the city, including military headquarters. Reports indicate that mass executions began following their takeover of El Fasher.
The joint armed force fighting alongside the Sudanese army against Rapid Response militias declared that these paramilitaries committed horrific crimes against innocent civilians in El Fasher. They allege more than 2,000 unarmed citizens-mostly women, children, and elderly-were executed amid global silence.
