Hamas Spokesperson: Israel Blocks Access to Its POWs’ Bodies

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Hazem Qassem, Hamas spokesperson, told Al Jazeera that handing over the bodies of Israeli captives reflects Hamas’s commitment to the ceasefire agreement with the occupying regime despite repeated violations by Israel.
he added that the occupiers are systematically preventing access to their prisoners’ bodies through ongoing bombing and killings.
The Hamas spokesperson emphasized that they have informed mediators of their full efforts to recover the bodies of Israeli captives as soon as possible.
Hazem Qassem expressed hope that despite Israel’s repeated breaches, the ceasefire will continue and remain in effect.
He also called on the U.S. government to compel Israel to abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
The spokesperson noted that Israel is failing to fulfill its commitments regarding sufficient aid entry into Gaza, leaving Gaza still suffering from famine conditions.
The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’s military wing, handed over two bodies of Israeli captives this evening to the Red Cross as part of a prisoner exchange under Operation Al-Aqsa Storm agreement.
With Israel’s ongoing blockade of Gaza and obstruction impeding humanitarian supplies and equipment from entering, identifying Israeli prisoners’ bodies beneath tons of rubble in Gaza remains extremely difficult.
