Lebanese Justice Minister: Army Will Confront Israeli Aggression

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting al-Nashra, Lebanon’s Minister of Justice Adel Nassar affirmed that the Lebanese army will resist any Israeli aggression in southern Lebanon.
He added that following President Joseph Aoun’s orders, the army is prepared to counter all attempts by Israeli forces to violate Lebanon’s southern borders.
The Minister emphasized that lebanese diplomacy complements the army’s role in confronting any Israeli violations.
He stated that the government will extend its sovereignty throughout Lebanon and ensure weapons remain under army control.
Nassar warned that war would be a catastrophic option for both Lebanon and the entire region.
Previously, Lebanese sources reported that on presidential instructions, the army has intensified its presence in southern areas such as Khyam and Aitaroun to prevent ground incursions by Israel’s military.
The sources revealed that numerous support troops and military equipment were deployed across southern Lebanon. Some forces advanced into Al-Mahafir plain near aitaroun town.
They also confirmed shipments of vehicles and hardware sent to Khyam village as part of these reinforcement efforts aimed at deterring Israeli infiltration attempts.
The measures reflect a broader strategy authorized by President Joseph Aoun instructing Army Commander Rudolf Heikal to actively defend Lebanese territory and citizens against any breaches by Israel’s armed forces in southern Lebanon.
