US Defense Secretary Warns China: America Will Defend Its Interests

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth met with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun to express Washington’s concerns about China’s activities in the South China Sea. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balance of power in the region.
Hegseth stated, “The united States will firmly defend its interests.”
The U.S. defense chief described his meeting with his Chinese counterpart as good and constructive.
Addressing rising tensions between Washington and Beijing in the Indo-Pacific region, he reiterated that America will vigorously protect its interests.
On X (formerly Twitter), he wrote that Washington conveyed its concerns over Beijing’s actions in the south China Sea to China’s defense minister and highlighted that maintaining power equilibrium in the Indo-Pacific is crucial.
