UNIFIL: Israel’s Assault on Blida Violates Resolution 1701 and Lebanon’s Sovereignty

The UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) condemned the Israeli attack north of the Blue Line in Blida, calling it a clear breach of Security Council Resolution 1701 and Lebanese sovereignty, according to the English section of webangah News Agency.
UNIFIL refrained from taking any action against Israeli soldiers during the assault on Blida but expressed deep concern over this armed aggression. The force urged all parties to respect international law and UN resolutions.
In the early hours of Thursday, a group of Israeli soldiers crossed the border into Blida, located in Lebanon’s southern border region. The operation was accompanied by drone flights over the town while gunfire was heard during their storming of municipal offices.
the municipal administration reported that one employee, Ibrahim Salameh, who was inside the building at the time, was killed during the assault by occupying forces. This brutal act has sparked widespread reactions both within Lebanon and internationally.
