Joseph Aoun: First Election Is Israel’s Aggression

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun urged the international community, the European Union, and the United States to pressure Israel into respecting the ceasefire agreement. he emphasized allowing the Lebanese Army to deploy along the southern international border and complete plans to extend Lebanon’s sovereignty over its entire territory during a meeting with German Foreign Minister Johannes Vaatz, according to webangah News Agency.
Aoun condemned Israel’s aggressive actions against Lebanon. He stated that negotiation remains the onyl option for reclaiming occupied lands, securing prisoners’ freedom, and achieving a full Israeli withdrawal. However, he noted that this approach has been met by increased attacks across southern Lebanon and in the Beqaa Valley as well as heightened tensions.
The president stressed that Israel’s failure to respond to repeated calls for halting its attacks confirms aggression remains its primary choice. This situation places duty on the international community to support Lebanon’s stance demanding security and stability.
Aoun underscored that while fulfilling multiple duties across Lebanon, its army is carrying out all tasks fully along southern Litani River. He welcomed all support for strengthening military capabilities and providing necessary resources for maintaining national sovereignty and security.
