North Korea: Nuclear Disarmament of Korean Peninsula Is an Impossible Illusion

According to the English section of⁢ webangah ⁣news Agency, citing Mehr news ‍Agency adn South Korea’s Yonhap news Agency, North Korea called the idea of nuclear disarmament on the Korean Peninsula “an illusory fantasy”​ and “an unattainable dream” on Saturday.

This statement came hours before South Korea‌ announced that President Lee Jae-myung is scheduled to discuss this‍ issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

yonhap reported that the leaders are set to meet ⁢today (Saturday) on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Gyeongju,southeastern South Korea.

The ​south⁢ Korean presidential office stated that ​denuclearization ⁣of⁤ the Korean Peninsula will be one of the main topics during their talks.

Earlier, Reuters quoted a US State Department official confirming Washington’s policy remains focused on Pyongyang’s nuclear disarmament.
