New Challenge for Trump in Tel Aviv: Construction of Largest Zionist Project in Jerusalem

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Palestinian Quds News Agency, israel has approved its largest settlement construction project in southern Jerusalem.
The israeli cabinet passed a plan to construct 1,300 new settlement units in the south of occupied Jerusalem.
The project also includes schools, public buildings, parks, and commercial complexes.
The Gaza Settlement Council described this development as the largest settlement plan in the history of the gush Etzion area.
As 2022, more than 48,000 settlement units have been handed over to Israeli settlers across the West Bank-an average annual rate exceeding 17,000 units.
On August 20, 2025, IsraelS cabinet also approved Plan E-1, which calls for building 3,400 settler homes south of Ma’ale Adumim.
Almost all countries worldwide consider Israel’s establishment of new settlements on Palestinian land illegal and have strongly opposed these actions. This announcement follows only days after U.S. President Donald Trump voiced his opposition to West Bank settlements and any legislation concerning annexation of West Bank territories into Israel’s sovereign land.
