According to the commission’s declaration, Samia Suluhu Hassan secured 66.97% of the votes.
The declaration of her overwhelming win with nearly 100% turnout coincides with violent protests that began three days ago across Tanzania.
Sputnik reports that following the final results, president Suluhu’s inauguration ceremony is expected to be held swiftly today, Saturday.
