Jolani to Visit the United States
The English section of webangah News Agency reported, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, that Tom Barrett, the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Washington’s representative on Syrian affairs, stated on Saturday that Mohammad Jolani, head of the rebel forces controlling Syria, is expected to travel to Washington.
Speaking on the sidelines of Bahrain’s annual Manama Dialog on global security and geopolitics, Barrett told reporters: “We hope that during this visit, Syria will join the U.S.-led coalition aimed at defeating ISIS.”
He did not specify an exact date for this trip.
this controversial claim about fighting ISIS comes despite then-presidential candidate Donald trump openly asserting during his 2016 campaign that ISIS was a creation of the united States in the region.
