Gatilov: We Hope the U.S. Ends Its Hostile Policy Toward Russia

According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva, told RIA Novosti that Russia hopes the new US governance will drop its hostile stance toward Russia. He added that dialog with Washington on a new START treaty and arms control is only possible after all sources of tension in bilateral relations are resolved.
The Russian envoy also stated that compliance with the quantitative limits of the new START treaty depends on reciprocal measures from the United States. The current prospects for negotiating new agreements under the INF Treaty remain uncertain. He described an anti-Russian human rights resolution at the UN Human Rights Council as another example of Western double standards.
Gatilov further noted that Russia continues to submit reports on Kyiv’s crimes and human rights violations in Western regions to the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human rights; however, these documents have gone unused.
