Gaza Hospital Director: Medical Aid Meets Only 10% of Our Actual Needs

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Russia Today network, Dr.Mohammad abusulmiya, Director General of Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, stated that more than 22,000 patients in Gaza urgently require medical treatment outside the region.So far,no effective response or action has been taken by international organizations to facilitate their transfer.
He also reported that approximately 5,000 individuals in Gaza have suffered amputations, including over 2,000 children who are in dire need of prosthetic limbs.
Abusulmiya highlighted a rise in the infant mortality rate among premature babies to 35 percent due to shortages of intensive care equipment and essential medicines. He added that six patients have died at Shifa Hospital because critical drug supplies ran out amid israeli restrictions on medication imports.
The official emphasized that medical aid entering gaza meets only about 10 percent of the actual needs.
He warned: “What we require are surgical supplies and vital medicines-not non-essential or low-priority items.”
