EU Foreign Policy Chief Reacts to Developments in Tanzania

The European⁢ Union’s foreign‌ policy chief urged all parties in Tanzania to prevent further escalation of tensions following recent developments.

The ⁣EU’s foreign policy chief, Kaya Kallas, ⁣responded on Sunday to the recent events in Tanzania.

She called on all parties in Tanzania to avoid exacerbating tensions. “A one-party rule is not the way forward for Tanzania,”​ she stated.

kallas added that Tanzanian authorities must exercise maximum restraint ​and respect the people’s right to protest.

Meanwhile,after several⁢ days of intense clashes across the country,tanzania’s presidential election committee once again confirmed the outright victory of President Samia Suluhu Hassan‌ for a ⁤third consecutive term.

The committee announced that Samia Suluhu Hassan secured 66.97 percent of the votes.

This confirmation of Suluhu Hassan’s sweeping win-approaching‌ 100 ‌percent turnout-comes amid ongoing violent ‌and bloody protests that began a few days ago across Tanzania.
