US and Tel Aviv Allies Unveil Strategy Against Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces
An Iraqi parliamentarian points to a U.S. and allied countries’ plan to weaken Popular Mobilization Forces
Mokhtar Al-Mousawi,an Iraqi parliament member,emphasized that the United States and several countries normalizing ties with Israel are orchestrating efforts to undermine the role of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) in Iraq.
He added that some of these countries are dissatisfied with the PMF’s position as a security force following their significant achievements against ISIS.
Al-Mousawi asserted that this pressure aims to redefine Iraq’s security landscape in favor of foreign interests and works against the PMF.
he stressed that Baghdad must support these forces and uphold their legal status, resisting external pressures.
